Create Your Own Legacy
The United Way of the CSRA has been deeply rooted in serving our community since 1936. Stemming from the inception of this mission, we have established the 1936 Society – a special group to recognize and honor planned giving donors who have committed selflessly to helping others through their generous support of United Way of the CSRA.
This giving method helps to raise funds with cash, equity, or property. Across the entire CSRA, people have dedicated their legacies to continue making a positive change by way of planned giving, naming United Way of the CSRA as a recipient of endowments, beneficiary of their will, or inheritor of stocks, bonds, and/or real estate. While we are not able to provide direct financial advice, there are certain advantages of making your major or planned gift today.
MAIL US YOUR GIFT
If you prefer to mail us your gift, please send it to:

Tocqueville Society
The Tocqueville Society is a very special membership group that recognizes donors of major gifts. Major gifts are made at a minimum annual gift of $10,000. These gifts may be paid in 3 annual installments for added convenience. These gifts assist the United Way of the CSRA in responding to our community’s needs. We will gladly customize the recognition of each gift according to the donor’s wishes.
Endowments
Give the gift that will keep on giving. Endowments made to the United Way of the CSRA are invested over time and only the generated interest is spent while the principal continues to increase. As a result, a portion of future years’ interest accumulates to increase the rate of return, allowing more funds to be available.
Planned Giving
Leave a lasting legacy in your community through planned giving. Planned giving represents gifts of life insurance, estate/bequest gifts, real estate, charitable gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, charitable remainder trusts, and gifts from retirement accounts. Gifting appreciated securities and proceeds from sales of businesses may enable donors to avoid capital gains taxes when given directly to the United Way. By choosing planned giving, donors can leave a lasting legacy in perpetuity for supporting a truly important cause to their charitable interests.
